Characters
I don’t RP. I’m simply not creative enough. However, I feel it’s impossible to play a character for any real length of time without (unconciously, perhaps.) giving them their own personalities and quirks. So, I’m going to write a little bit about some of my characters here. Since I have a number of alts, this should serve both as a way to remember who the hell I’m talking about, and find easy links to armory profiles, if you are of the nosey persuasion.
Not all characters have a little story yet!
Note: Clicking the picture will take you to that characters armory page. Character’s listed in order of level / most played.
Alliance (Dragonblight – EU server)
Ellaria – Draenei Shaman
Ellaria is somewhat odd for a Draenei – she is one of the few who heard the call of the Elements, and walks the path of the Shaman. Unlike her Elemental and Restoration bretheren, Ellaria prefers to use the aid of the spirits to enhance her battle prowess, and leap into combat, clawed fists swinging, blasting her opponents with powerful shocks and flashes of lightning. Ranged fire support is something she appreciates, but has no patience for providing herself.
In contrast to the deep spiritual nature of Shamanism, Ellaria thouroughly enjoys Engineering. It may be due to her affinity with Fire that she likes it so much – her command over fire allows her some level of control over usually unstable explosives. Aside from the more practical explosives, Ellaria enjoys tinkering with her equipment to provide fun surprises, such as a pair of nitro-boost enhanced boots.
Ellaria spent quite some time as a Private in the Alliance Army, fighting many fierce battles in the Arathi Basin and Warsong Gulch. During this time she took to the role of a mobile healer – using her Ghost Wolf spell to quickly move around the front lines and provide aid where needed. Although she isn’t as comfortable with it these days, she will do her best as a Healer if absolutely necessary.
Faulsey – Draenei Hunter
Faulsey began life on the Azjol-Nerub (EU) server, where he spent his first 50 seasons, before his long-time (and long-suffering) friend Kazura enticed him over to Dragonblight. He has a passion for animals, and thus specialises in Beast Mastery, and continues to collect unneccessary mounts – everything from nightsabers, to talbuks, and even nether drakes!
His beloved companion is Erethia, a Dun Morogh Snow Leopard, who he fell in love with as soon as he learned the art of taming beasts. Yes, he is aware of the long standing stereotype across the pubs of Azeroth, that all Hunters, and particularly bad ones, tame cats, but he couldn’t care less about stereotype. Erethia will always be his favourite companion, the one who has been with him from defeating the Blood Elves on Bloodmyst, to weathering the horrors of Northrend into his 80th season.
Faulsey has adopted Kalimdor as his new home. Unlike many young Draenei, who rush over to the war-torn Eastern Kingdoms to assist their new Human and Dwarf allies, Faulsey enjoys the relative peace on Kalimdor – though he is willing to fight to defend his new home and that of his Elven allies from the Horde.
Ilthiran – Night Elf Druid
Like many Druids, Ilthiran has spent many years slumbering in the Barrow Dens of Kalimdor. Originally a Druid of the Claw, he has since embraced the jack of all trades doctrine of the Druids of the Wild – while still a powerful Bear Druid, he is also an experienced Panther.
When he first began adventuring, his chosen specialisation was in Balance – an area he admitted a deficiency of knowledge in, and wished to learn more about. Shortly after he reached the level of knowledge necessary to shift into a powerful Moonkin, he returned to his Feral roots, and hasn’t looked back… though he will still shift into a Moonkin and dance for comic effect on occasion. Whoever said Druids had to be solemn and stuffy?
Flailsey – Human Paladin
New character.
Ellariana – Draenei Mage
Ellariana’s tale is a sad one. Like many of the older Draenei, she suffered greatly during the war with the Orcs after their demonic corruption – she lost almost her entirely family to them. Only her neice Ellaria (Named for her aunt), who was naught but a child at the time, survived. Left somewhat bitter by her loss, she nonetheless did her best to care for her young neice during the time the Draenei were in hiding on Draenor.
When the time came, as an experienced (albeit out of practise) mage, she assisted in the wresting of the Exodar from Blood Elf hands. After the crash on Azeroth, she wanted no more to do with war or violence, and settled in as a Tailor in the Exodar.
However, Ellaria does her best to keep her Aunt informed of her journies, and soon, Ellariana began to itch to use her magic again. With the Sunfury threat on the Isles still not quite contained, she’s begun to venture out from the Exodar and lend her Arcane prowess to the fight.
Soon, it’ll be time for her to leave the Islands the Draenei now call home… but finding Allies she can trust may prove a difficult task. The betrayal of the orcs, once so close to the Draenei, has left her deeply suspicious of outsiders.
