First, grats on the druid! I can't stand playing them in anything other than a healing role, so I'm happy to see at least someone else can.

Second, that pug? He must have a brother.

I have run into this retadin/healadin on my server who does nothing but complain all the time. The odd times when he doesn't complain, he cant heal or do DPS.

His DPS: 1.7k. At BEST. He couldnt heal a group through a tank and spank if he was paid, and he doesnt judge when he should either.

In short: I think I found your pally's brother from another mother.

When I went through Outlands with my paladin a few weeks ago I had three runs through Ramps, and then I never saw another instance for the duration of my stay.

There are a lot of DK's in that neck of the woods, but that's about it in most cases. You do find a fair share of Recruit a Friend people over there too, but they've all leveled so fast that they have no idea how to actually play their class.

No, Mr. Mage, you do not attack with your freaking staff when you have 96% of your mana left to spend...

I would suggest just getting to Northrend as soon as possible, unless you have no tanking experience to rely on. In that case, run through ramps a couple of time as a bear to get a feel for it, and then go back to cat for your questing to get to Northrend.

I love fighting a load of mobs in bear form - when I did ZF, we ended up charging right into the middle of the huge army that spawns at the pyramid, with me spamming swipe and marvelling at how much rage I was getting.

Re: Outlands instances - I only tend to do the early ones anyway. I've never done an instance in Outlands past Mana Tombs. (At least, not at the appropriate level) Assuming I can actually tank those instances, I guess I'll see how an "offtank" spec pans out.

'Gratz on 50 with your kitty! On the subject of levelling bear-heavy: I levelled 70-80 as a bear spec (since it wasn't available when I was a baby-druid) and it's a pretty nice levelling spec if you get into the mentality of "gather it up, grind it down". It's also very nice for soloing all of those 5-man group quests and elite killing things in Outlands.

It'll not be as fast one-on-one as kitty-spec but you can hold a whole tonne of mobs and be ready to tank at the drop of a hat if someone asks.

At the same time, none of the low-level Outlands instances really *need* a 'heavy' bear spec - an offtank kitty/bear spec will do just fine so long as you make sure you have a wee bit of sta/agi gear. Bear spec will save you in the face of bad or off-spec pug healers, though.

Sounds like you had a great palordin there... /sigh You're definately right, bad and too dumb to realise, is worse than just plain bad :P
